Artistic Spaces began as an art and design firm. As our client base expanded, so did the types of jobs we were employed to execute. Our network grew, as did our knowledge base. When we realized the majority of our efforts had gone from illustrating books to designing them, the shift toward publishing began.
Artistic Spaces is a small publishing company, catering to the first-time or newer author. We understand some authors are unfamiliar with the business of publishing and may need more one-on-one contact or hand holding. We walk you, step-by-step, through the publishing process. We are committed to producing the highest standard of books through cutting-edge, digital press technology.
We are a small company with limited captial. Therefore, we do not offer advances. However, we do work out very generous contracts, which enable the author to keep a much larger chunk of all profit generated. We also offer you a significant savings when you purchase copies of your own book for resale. We allow you unlimited leeway in the marketing and sale of your book.
We commit to make your book available through major online venues (such as Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com, Borders.com). Your book will also be available through the world's largest book wholesale distributor, Ingram. Bookstores and booksellers are able to order copies of your book from Ingram, Baker and Taylor, and a number of them will also be able to order directly through us or our printer.
You, however, have the ability to sell additional copies. You will then keep 100% of the profit you generate through the personal sales you make. |
| What We OfferEvery manuscript is read and evaluated.
We do not necessarily publish every submission we receive, but we will always take the time to read and evaluate your efforts. Our acquisition team takes into account subject matter, writing style, content, and marketability. Though we accept all subjects and genres, some are more marketable than others.
You will always receive a response.
And not just a form letter, either. Regardless of our acquisition team's findings, your manuscript will be passed on to an editorial team member for an editorial evaluation.
If rejected:
You will always receive a letter explaining, in detail, why your manuscript was rejected. This will give you insight into the process and potentially help you to improve your work for future submissions. We also have services available for more intense editing.
If accepted:
If we feel your manuscript has publishing potential, you will be notified concerning the next steps on your journey toward becomming a published author.
RESPECT. Though our teams may advise you otherwise, we respect your desires to leave some things the way you want them. You may love the way a passage is worded or demand we work your daughter's drawing into the cover art. We understand this is your shining glory, and we respect your desires. We not only want to produce the best product possible, we want you to be happy with it.
